You don’t have to be technical to work in tech

Imagine a stereotypical portrayal of someone working in tech – they’re probably working in a dark room, looking at three screens filled with coding. And they’re probably a man!  

We’re here to smash these stereotypes and show you that you don’t have to be technical for a career in tech.  Tech companies are looking for a broad range of skill sets and there are hundreds of non-technical roles to be had in the tech sector, such as marketing, design or product.  

Joining us today is Sarah Norford-Jones, Co-Founder of YEO Messaging – a private messaging application. Sarah’s background is in advertising and marketing, but she is considered a ‘woman in tech’.  Sarah chats to us about how our listeners can get involved in the industry and excel in a career in tech, without having to be trained in code or programming.
